The Center for Energy Markets (CEM) at the School of Management, Technical University of Munich, invites applications for one PhD Position and one Post-Doctoral Researcher Position (both 100% German TVE-13 pay scale) in the field of Energy and Environmental Economics. The CEM conducts research on a broad array of energy market topics. We bring together economics, finance, and engineering approaches to offer contributions to topical questions on the global energy transition. The Center’s research has been published, amongst others, in the Journal of the European Economic Association, the RAND Journal of Economics, the Journal of Industrial Economics, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Energy Economics, the Energy Journal, and Energy Policy.

Responsibilities
• Conducting research on energy markets; teaching classes in our energy curriculum
• Supporting research-related activities of the Center, e.g., organization of research workshops

Requirements
• Degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics or similar field (Master for the PhD position, PhD for the PostDoc position)
• Proven interest in the fields of energy economics, environmental economics, or empirical industrial organization
• Skills in STATA, R, Python or similar programming language are a plus
We offer experiences to work within a dynamic research environment at the Center for Energy Markets. Both positions are offered for an initial period of two years with the possibility of extension.
