The Department of Economics in the Faculty of Arts invites applications for two tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in Microeconomic Theory. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023.

We are seeking a scholar who will establish and maintain an active research program in microeconomic theory. Applicants must have demonstrated strength in microeconomic theory. Candidates with research applications in a broad array of fields are encouraged to apply (e.g. industrial organization, behavioral/experimental, energy and resources, environmental, international trade).

The successful applicant will have a PhD in economics and must demonstrate evidence of, or potential for, influential publications. Evidence of publication success will be provided through a strong sample of current research and a statement of research interests, outlining future research directions. The successful applicant will show evidence of (or potential for) securing external research funding, be expected to conduct high-quality research and teaching as well as engage in graduate student supervision. Evidence of excellence in teaching will be demonstrated by a strong statement of teaching philosophy, outstanding teaching evaluations, and an exceptional record of commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Service to the department, faculty, University, and community is also expected.

In the Department of Economics, the successful applicant will be expected to teach core microeconomics courses and/or field courses. In terms of research, the successful applicant will be expected to conduct high-quality research, evidenced by publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, securing external research funding, and maintaining an active profile in their field. Moreover, the successful applicant will be expected to be part of the department's growing research group, displaying knowledge of cutting-edge techniques and applied methods, leading to high impact publications. Graduate program contributions include both teaching and supervising students.
