The School of Economics at the University of Bristol is seeking to fill several academic posts with high calibre staff to expand the school’s academic profile in all fields in line with growth in our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

We are recruiting on both our Research and teaching pathway (research focused pathway 1) and on our Teaching and Scholarship pathway (education focused pathway 3).

The School is research-led, with a focus on high quality research and teaching in all areas of Economics and is well connected to the UK and the rest of the world.

We are looking to appoint Assistant Professors in Economics who will contribute to our strong economics research profile and who show a commitment to excellent teaching and are able to shape economics education within the School and beyond.

Applicants should have a strong research background with evidence of an ability to publish in the very top international economic journals and excellent teaching (for pathway 1 appointments), and an aptitude to teach to the highest standards at both Undergraduate and Masters level and to engage in scholarly activities to innovate teaching and to shape economics education (for pathway 3 appointments).

They should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in Economics or a related discipline by the post start date (January 2023).
