The Department of Economics at the University of Bergen (UiB), Norway, invites applications for a tenure-track (7 years) position as Associate Professor. Towards the end of the period, the candidate will be evaluated for a tenured position as a Full Professor according to national and internal guidelines and requirements.
We offer bachelor, master and PhD degrees in Economics, and a 5-year Computer Science and Economics degree. Research and teaching at the department cover a broad spectrum of sub-disciplines.
We are looking for an excellent economist with a PhD in Economics or Finance. A completed PhD is required, and the degree should normally be from the last five years.
The successful candidate should have a demonstrated ability to publish research at a high international level and have a promising pipeline. Personal and collaborative skills as well as teaching experience and skills will be taken into consideration. The position comes with a competitive salary, and a bonus system for a list of publications. The teaching load is competitive and will over the hiring period include teaching and supervision at all levels, in addition to administrative duties.
