The faculty of Business Administration and Economics of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) are inviting applications for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) in Behavioural Economics or Empirical Industrial Organisation or Competition Policy (100 %, pay grade 13 TV-L).

The employment is initially limited to a period of three years, starting on October 1st, 2023, with an option for an extension. It is a qualification position in the sense of the Act of Academic Fixed-Term Contract (Wissenschaftsvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG), which is to promote the scientific qualification of the employee.

Your tasks:

The successful candidate conducts research and teaching (teaching in German is not required) in the field Behavioural Economics (with a focus on behaviour in markets) or Empirical Industrial Organisation (with researchers preferable focusing on structural models) or in Competition Policy.

Our requirements:

• A completed scientific university education (M.Sc./ M.A./ Diploma/ Magister) in the field of Economics or a related discipline with outstanding grades

• PhD in a relevant field

• Very good knowledge of theoretical and empirical economic methods

• Excellent command of the English language

The pay scale grouping will be, depending on the personal qualification of the applicant, up to pay grade 13 TV-L.

In principle, the employment can also take place part-time, if no compelling official reasons are opposed in an individual case.
