The Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UCPH) and the ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit invite excellent candidates for an associate professorship in Labor Economics; Immigration and Integration.

The position is a permanent, full-time position and is available from 01/01/23 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Situated in the heart of Copenhagen, the Department of Economics is one of the leading economics departments in Europe and offers courses at all levels. The ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit is an impartial research institution. The goals of the research are to inform and to raise the standard of the public debate in Denmark, and to create the best possible basis for political decision-making. The position is jointly financed by the University of Copenhagen and The ROCKWOOL Foundation and the associate professor is expected to contribute actively to the advance of these research and teaching environments.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities of the post include contributing to the scholarship and intellectual life of the University as well as the ROCKWOOL Foundation by conducting world-class research and teaching. An associate professor also has administrative responsibilities and is expected to develop the field in synergy with other fields as well as to exercise academic leadership.

General duties attached to the position as Associate Professor in Labor Economics; Immigration and Integration are:

  • Research within the field of Labor Economics, Immigration and Integration
  • Teaching, supervision and examination of undergraduate and post-graduate students.
  • Administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge sharing with the rest of the society
  • Research and teaching management
  • Raising external research grants

The position

  • Terms of appointment and salary is in accordance with agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
  • The salary is DKK 40,752 per month + a 17.1 % contribution to the pension scheme. It is possible to negotiate salary supplements on an annual basis.
  • The position is permanent, and therefore we strongly encourage you to acquire the proficiency in Danish required to teach and interact with colleagues in 2-4 years. The Department and the Foundation will pay for the necessary language training.
