The Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society

The Department of Strategy, Globalization and Society (SGS) provides a stimulating, collegial, and interdisciplinary research environment. Expected start date: February 1st, 2023 or a mutually agreed date

Contract duration: The initial contract is one year. The contract is twice renewable for two years (max. funding period is five years)

Your responsibilities

• As a PHD student, you must be accepted and enrolled in the Doctoral School in Management or Economics at HEC Lausanne within your first year of contract. As such, at least 50% of your time will be dedicated to completion of the doctoral studies and thesis.

• In addition to completion of the doctoral courses and thesis, your position will involve teaching and administrative duties for The School and department, and research support for your thesis supervisor.

Your qualifications

with the ideal candidate for this position should have the following skills and interests:

• A Master’s degree in Economics or Management

• Fluency in English

• An interest in governance, contracting, cooperative strategy, and organization design

• Strong quantitative skills with an interest in either game-theoretic modeling or empirical methods (experiments, field experiments and RCTs, microeconometrics)
