The Department of Economics and Statistics at the University of Turin (Italy) is opening several positions at the Post-Doc and Junior Assistant Professorship level financed under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP-PNRR). All the jobs require the candidates to dedicate part of their time to the specific area of each project.

The positions for which we are currently collecting applications are the following:

One two-year Post-Doc on “Public sector, policy design and performance"

Relying on administrative, survey and experimental data, this project aims to explore the relationships between climate change, mass media, and quality of governance through the lens of public economics and political economy.

One two-year Post-Doc on “Corporate sustainability and resilience to ESG risk”

This project aims to explore corporate sustainability and resilience in pilot territories to ESG risks, with a specific focus on climate risk. It will connect company information with climate scenarios and macroeconomic trends to develop a database and measures of corporate sustainability and resilience to these risks.

One two-year Post-Doc on “Determinants of human capital and efficiency in educational processes”

The project focuses on the determinants (economic, institutional and social factors) of human capital. The project’ activities include: the measurement of inequality in the Italian education system by gender, migrant background, income, region, and other socio-economic variables; educational choices and how they are affected by early choices and institutional contexts, cultural norms and external shocks; response of households and individuals’ education choices to government policies and market signals; evaluation of specific programs to reduce inequalities and improve students cognitive and non-cognitive skills.

One two-year Post-Doc on “Globalization, firms and local markets”

The project will be based on collecting and analysing various sources of national and international microdata to study the effects of globalisation on firms, competition and labour markets.

One Junior Assistant Professor (**fixed term--3 years) on “Socio-economic aspects of smart mobility and energy transition**”

The project focuses on three main aspects: 1) Behavioural analysis of sustainable mobility, with a special focus on hydrogen mobility both through surveys and lab experiments, 2) Financial analysis of the investments in sustainable mobility, and 3) Evaluation of the market impact of smart mobility on the energy transition in Europe.

The project will be based on collecting and analysing various sources of national and international microdata to study the drivers and effects of innovation-based transition to circular economy on firms, competition and local labour markets.

Please note that this is a call for interest. Successful candidates will be asked to apply through the formal procedures published in later December 2022/early January 2023. Following national regulations, candidates applying to the Junior Assistant Professorships must hold a PhD at the time of the official call.
