The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ Institute for Economic Equity (IEE) is seeking applicants for its Research Fellows program. The Institute focuses on promoting a more equitable economy for households and communities in the Eighth Federal Reserve District and beyond through a data, analysis and narrative approach.
IEE invites scholars from around the country whose work aligns with the Institute’s three strategic research priorities:
Examining wealth inequalities and barriers to wealth building
Understanding unequal labor market outcomes
Examining factors impacting economic conditions in low-to-moderate income communities
We are looking for fellows from various disciplines utilizing a wide range of methods.
The research fellowship is a one-year contract beginning at the end of August.
Currently, fellows are paid up to $7,800 for the contract year, distributed incrementally based on deliverables.
Fellows will have opportunities to present their work in the Bank’s publications.
Fellows can rely on feedback of Institute staff to further their work. More in-depth and mutually beneficial collaboration is possible.
Serve as member of the Bank’s Institute for Economic Equity (IEE) “brain trust” and participate in events organized by IEE staff, as appropriate.
Author an academic working paper focused on an issue relevant to IEE’s research goals (as outlined in IEE’s strategic plan). Existing working papers or works in progress may qualify.
Coauthor with IEE staff member short publications derived from the working paper and existing research that will be published in Bank’s publication.
Participate (virtually) in IEE’s bi-monthly brown bag seminar series and present at least one time.
