The Department of Economics, Lund University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Economics with specialization in microeconomics (applied or theory) or financial economics. Lund University is one of the largest universities in Scandinavia and the Department of Economics is a well-established research and teaching institution with a full-scale postgraduate program. Lund is an old attractive university town 10 minutes from Malmö and 40 minutes from Copenhagen.
We wish to fill the position no later than September 2024, although there is room for some flexibility. The position is a six-year tenure-track and comes with a low teaching load and a competitive salary package. Salary takes the form of a tax-exempt scholarship and a part-time taxed employment. The net monthly pay roughly equals SEK 45 000. In addition to this, there will be annual funds for expenses and insurance. The Department’s working language is English (for teaching as well) and knowledge of Swedish is not required.
The position is open for applicants with a recent PhD, or close to finishing their thesis, in economics. Applicants with a PhD from outside Sweden are especially welcome to apply. Research potential is our key selection criterion for the advertised position. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out research suitable for publication in leading or highly ranked field and general economics journals.

Promotion
The tenure track position implies that the assistant professor can apply for promotion to a permanent position as a senior lecturer if she or he fulfills the eligibility requirements according to Lund University’s employment regulations 4.3.5 and the following qualification requirements of the department:
1) High scientific skills

b) Condition 1 (high quality). One of the following conditions must be fulfilled when it comes to publications:
i) 3 A
ii) 2 A och 2 B*
iii) 1 A* and 1 A
iv) 1 A* and 2 B*
v) 2 A*
c) Condition 2 (productivity and independence): The applicants needs at least 16 points from publications ranked as B or higher. A single authored publication has the following points: A*=20, A=10, B*=5, B=2 and b=1. Each additional author reduces the total number of points with 10 percentage units. Hence, an A-publication with three authors gives 8 points while the same article with five authors gives 6 points.
2) High pedagogical skills
a) At least 1500 hours of teaching (so-called clock hours, which includes preparations).
b) Five weeks of pedagogical education.
3) An ability to cooperate with the society outside academia and a high degree of collegiality.
