Assistant Professorship in Economics of Child-Wellbeing and Development

The Department of Economics of the University of Zurich is inviting applications at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting September 2024. The research focus of this position lies in the broad field of Child-Wellbeing in developing countries. A professorship with this thematic orientation may, for example, come from the fields of development economics, economics of education, health economics, public economics, behavioral economics, or macroeconomics. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree in Economics or expect to complete it by Summer 2024, and they should have an excellent record of academic achievements in the relevant field. Successful candidates are appointed to three-year contracts, renewable once, with evaluation for tenure after six years.

The Department of Economics offers an exciting and collegial research environment, competitive terms and conditions and generous research support. Knowledge of German is not a requirement. In order to increase the number of women in leading academic positions, we especially encourage women to apply.
