Three Assistant Professorships in Economics

The Department of Economics at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Faculty of Economics and Business, Reus, Catalonia, Spain) invites applications for three Assistant Professorships in all fields of Economics.

Note that one of the three offered positions (profile Economic Theory) must be filled by the end of December 2025. Recruitment starts immediately and we will expedite the process to reach a decision.

Teaching will be either in Catalan or Spanish, with the possibility of teaching partially in English. To facilitate the candidate’s research activity, teaching load is reduced below regular course work for tenured faculty.

The successful applicants are expected to prove potential for publication in top-ranked journals. Also, the successful candidates should collaborate with the established research groups of the Department in applying for external research funding, and contributing to knowledge exchange and dissemination of research results.

The Department of Economics aims to conduct research in a broad range of areas within Economics and offers undergraduate and graduate programs at the highest level. The Department employs approximately 40 faculty members and 10 PhD students. Our senior faculty members have a well-recognized publication record and are internationally connected. The Department of Economics, Lund University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Economics.

Lund University is one of the largest universities in Scandinavia and the Department of Economics is a well-established research and teaching institution with a full-scale postgraduate program. Lund is an old attractive university town 15 minutes from Malmö and 40 minutes from Copenhagen.

We search for candidates in economics. While we accept applications from all specializations in economics, candidates with a specialization in international economics or macroeconomics are especially welcome to apply.

We wish to fill the position no later than September 2026, although there is room for some flexibility. The position is six-year tenure-track and comes with a low teaching load and a competitive salary package. Salary takes the form of a tax-exempt scholarship and part-time taxed employment. The net monthly pay roughly equals SEK 48 000. In addition to this, there will be annual funds for expenses and insurance. The Department’s working language is English and knowledge of Swedish is not required.

The position is open for applicants with a recent PhD, or close to finishing their thesis, in economics. We will prioritize those applicants who have obtained a doctoral degree within the last 5 years from the closing date for applications for the position.
