The Unit of Economic History at Umeå University invites applications for a three-year Browaldh Postdoctoral Fellowship in Economic History.

Research Environment
The successful candidate will join a vibrant and internationally engaged research environment, contributing to scholarship in areas such as the historical development of private and public insurance systems, welfare state formation, the socio-economic implications of risk and uncertainty, and the application of insurance data to the study of long-term socio-economic outcomes.

Candidate Profile
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent) in economic history, economics, history, or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their PhD within the past three years, but exceptions may be considered under special circumstances. Proficiency in software such as Python, R, or Stata is desirable. Applicants should demonstrate a strong potential for independent research and an aptitude for collaborative scholarly work.
