We are looking for researchers that propose to work on the intersection of computer science and quantitative social science, bring together cutting edge methods in NLP and integrate this into quantitative work on social and political disruptions.

The PostDoc will join a research group between the IIIA (CSIC) and the IAE (CSIC) to investigate the use of text-based measures for social science research. Our team is actively engaged with policy makers in the UN, IMF and several working on stability. Through a recent ERC (Media, Economics and Geopolitics) we have access to the EMM data.

-Fellows will spend one year at each hosting institute, with opportunities for secondment at industry or international partner organisations.

-Eligible researchers must possess a Ph.D. degree or have successfully defended their thesis by the program’s call deadline.

-Eligible researchers haven’t resided or carried out their main activity in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.

- Gross Salary: 41,213.44 € per year (aprox)

The Departament d'Economia Aplicada at the Universitat de les Illes Balears (Spain) invites to express the interest to apply for (tenure-track) faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the field of Econometrics and Economics. Open positions are to begin in September 2024.

The position involves both research and teaching activities. Candidates are expected to have completed their Ph.D. in Economics by May 2024. Since most teaching at the Universitat de les Illes Balears is either in Spanish or Catalan, the ability to teach in at least one of these two languages is important (although it is not a requisite).
