We welcome applications in the fields of Political Economy or Applied Economics. The positions are funded by the European Research Council Consolidator Grant POLTRUSTLAB, whose PI is Professor Monica Martinez-Bravo.

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the research environment at CEMFI and to participate in our academic activities, as well as to further their own research agenda. They will also be expected to participate as researchers in the POLTRUSTLAB project. This project aims to uncover the determinants of political discontent through online surveys using experimental and quasi-experimental methodologies. Researchers will be involved in all aspects of the research process, including but not restricted to: experimental and research design, development of data collection instruments, analysis, and production of papers and dissemination pieces. They will have no teaching obligations.
Candidates should have a PhD in Economics or related fields by the time of appointment. A one-year appointment is also possible for candidates who have secured an Assistant Professorship or equivalent position by the beginning of their post-doctoral appointment. Knowledge of Spanish is not required.

We invite applications from ambitious candidates with relevant research experience and passion to conduct research and innovation activities on socioeconomic analysis of issues related to the production, processing, and consumption of food products as well as the interactions of food system with natural resources and the environment.
Tasks and Responsabilites:
• To design, lead and participate in public and private research projects in the field of Agro-food economics.
• To actively contribute to uptake R+D+I economic funds from both public institutions (competitive calls) and private agreements within the Agro-food sector.
• To write scientific papers and reports based on the research activity as well as to participate in technology transfer and/or advice activities addressed to both public and private sectors. Tangible results will be measured by the number of papers published in Impact factor Journals related to Agro-food economics, applied economics and economic analysis (specially in Q1) as well as by the number of citations.
• To develop and lead research relationships with other researchers belonging to national and international research centers and universities either from the socioeconomic area or from other research disciplines related to the Agro-food sector.
• To develop and maintain contacts with potential users of R+D+i activities along the food-supply chain as well to actively participate in dissemination activities.
• To contribute and collaborate in human capital formation by supervising PhD and master thesis on agro-food economics.
Required qualifications and experience
• PhD in Economics, Applied Economics or Agricultural Economics
• Experience in participating in national and/or European projects from competitive calls
• At least 20 publications in Impact factor journals (JCR, SCOPUS) being the first or the last author
• Working knowledge of English (Knowledge of Spanish is not compulsory)
Desirable requirements
• Good knowledge of quantitative methods (econometric models, time series econometric and/or mathematical programming tools) applied to modeling agricultural and food policies and markets.
• Good knowledge of microeconomic theory and agricultural and food policies
• Experience in using agricultural and food databases at local, regional, national, European and international levels.
• Experience in getting primary information: surveys, questionnaires, deep interviews, Focus groups, etc.
• Experience in Living Labs and Citizen Science will be considered as a plus.

The Departament d'Economia Aplicada at the Universitat de les Illes Balears (Spain) invites to express the interest to apply for (tenure-track) faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the field of Economics (preferably, though not exclusively, in Public Economics, Macroeconomics and Tourism Economics).
