The Department of Economics at ENSAI (Ecole Nationale de Statistique et Analyse de l’Information) has openings at the rank of Assistant professor (tenure track) and Associate Professor. We welcome applications from all fields in economics with a preference for candidates in econometrics, health economics or environmental economics.

Candidates must demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. Knowledge of French is not required. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Successful candidates will teach at ENSAI (https://ensai.fr/en/). ENSAI is a renowned engineering school in statistics, quantitative economics and computer sciences.

The University of Rennes is opening a Junior Professor Chair “Behaviors, Perceptions and Societies Transformations” which will begin in the fall of 2024 for a period of 4 years. This Chair will be hosted by CREM research center in economics and management. Following a successful tenure review, the junior Professor will be offered a permanent, full Professor, position at the University of Rennes.

The Chair studies the relationships between behaviors, perceptions, and various inequality dimensions: health inequalities, environmental inequalities or digital inequalities. Beyond the issue of inequalities, the impact of biases and perceptions on individual behaviors is part of the research questions to be investigated.

CREM is the most important research center in economics and management in the west of France. It is supported by the CNRS, the University of Rennes and the University of Caen-Normandie. CREM has an infrastructure for conducting experimental research in economics and neuromarketing.

Applications are now open for Hi! PARIS postdoctoral fellowships.

Hi! PARIS is the Center on Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence for Science, Business and Society created by Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) and HEC Paris and joined by Inria (Centre Inria de Saclay). One of the central aims of Hi! PARIS is to conduct breakthrough and multidisciplinary research on AI and Data Science.

The postdoctoral fellows will be expected to undertake research within Hi! PARIS scientific fields, broadly defined, in one of the research laboratories of IP Paris or of HEC Paris. Postdoctoral researchers will participate in academic activities organized by Hi! PARIS: research seminars, workshops, conferences, meetups, etc.

Fellowships will be awarded through a competitive selection process. Each Fellowship will be provided for a 12-month period and can be renewed for another 12 months.

Eligibility criteria

The postdoc positions are intended for excellent early-career researchers. To be eligible, candidates must

  • have defended – or be due to defend – their PhD between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2024.
  • have a mentor from either IP Paris or HEC Paris.

The Economics and Decision Sciences department at HEC Paris invites applications for the following positions:

- Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to start in Fall 2024 in All Fields, with a preference for Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, IO, digital economics and AI, environmental economics.

- Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level to start in Fall 2024 in Entrepreneurship.

Candidates must have a track record of published research, or potential to publish research, in top-level general audience journals in Economics. Fluent command of English and excellent communication and presentation skills are required. Knowledge of French is not required. The IRD, the French Research Institute on Development, is opening a junior professor position in development economics at CERDI (https://cerdi.uca.fr/english-version). The CERDI is a joint research center of UCA, CNRS, and IRD, located in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

We are seeking a candidate with expertise in analyzing the effects of natural disasters in low-income countries, and more broadly in the analysis of the different sources of vulnerability of the populations.

The position offers the following features:

· Tenure period of 3 to 6 years.

· Initial net salary of 2.8k euros per month, plus a possible top-up (by at most 10 percent) financed by the CERDI.

· Research funds totaling 460k euros. 200k euros funded by the ANR (welcome pack), 115k funded by the Université Clermont Auvergne (for a three-year PhD scholarship), 115k funded by the IRD (either for a three-year PhD scholarship or for a two-year post-doc, plus), and another 30k euros funded again by the IRD (for a mission of six months in a developing country.

· Starting date December 2024.
