The Faculty of Economics of USI provides a young and dynamic environment with strong research competences in the areas of economics, finance, and management. 2. The candidate’s profile
The ideal candidate has a strong publication record in top/top-field economics journals on policy-relevant topics (including – but not restricted to – regional and urban economics, public finance, labor economics, and environmental and energy economics). Academic achievements should be complemented by a demonstrated ability to lead a research group and generate external funding. The successful candidate is fluent in Italian and willing to invest in the knowledge of the local economy of the Canton of Ticino. The required academic qualification is a doctoral degree in Economics (PhD).

The Department of Economics at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in International Trade. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in Economics or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching, specializing in International Trade or a closely related subfield. Three Assistant Professorships in Economics
The Department of Economics at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Faculty of Economics and Business, Reus, Catalonia, Spain) invites applications for three Assistant Professorships in all fields of Economics.

Position Introduction
We are seeking multiple highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to join an interdisciplinary research team engaged in a close collaboration with a leading global ride-hailing platform. This ambitious project aims to advance our understanding of digitalmarketplace design by studying the interactions between customers and drivers, as well as the platform’s operational and strategic choices.
A defining strength of this collaboration is access to exceptionally rich, high-resolution proprietary data from the platform. Thisunique dataset supports rigorous empirical analysis and enables high-fidelity modeling and simulation of marketplace dynamics at scale. Research topics span a broad set of questions, including how pricing strategies, incentive structures, dispatch algorithms, and service quality shape the behavior and outcomes of customers, drivers, and the platform itself.
We welcome applicants with strong backgrounds in causal inference, structural estimation, advanced machine learning, andsimulation. We are especially interested in scholars eager to apply cutting-edge methods to real- world data to uncover insightsthat are both academically rigorous and practically actionable. The overarching goal is to inform the design of smarter, more equitable, and more efficient platform ecosystems.
The position will be formally affiliated with the School of Management and Economics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). The postdocs will be supervised by Prof. Yiming Zhang of CUHK-Shenzhen. The research team includes the following faculty from other institutions: Prof. Qiuping Yu (Georgetown), Prof. Yong-Pin Zhou (University of Washington), and Prof. Yunan Ji (Georgetown).
Since 2018, our research team has maintained a close collaboration with this ride-hailing platform. Our prior work has focused onthe design and optimization of virtual queuing systems, combining large-scale randomized field experiments with structural modeling to generate actionable insights. Research from this partnership has been published in Management Science and receivedmultiple awards, including the MSOM Service Management SIG Best Paper Award, INFORMS Service Science Best Paper Award, and the CSAMSE Best Practice Award. Notably, our recommended strategies were adopted platform-wide and led to an 80% improvement in customer experience.

Key responsibilities
· Research: Design and lead applied research on farm and agribusiness management, agricultural markets, policy analysis, or related fields. Publish in leading peer-reviewed journals and produce applied outputs such as extension bulletins, policy briefs, and industry reports.

The Department of Economics, jointly with Tilburg Sustainability Center, has a vacancy for a 48 months Postdoctoral Researcher in Economics.
We are looking for an environmental economist with strong analytical and quantitative skills, programming experience in either R or python, and motivated to combine rigorous research with social impact. The researcher will develop and analyze economic models for the transition towards a circular economy. It integrates concepts such as circular life cycle assessments, material flow analyses, product as a service, into economic macro general equilibrium models, analyzing distributional effects on income, employment, and resource use across global value chains. We expect publications in top field journals, both in economics and interdisciplinary.
The position is rooted in the NWO funded ACT! project (Accelerating the Circular Transition). It aims at overcoming societal and scientific challenges for the transformation towards a circular society to tackle the existing sustainability challenges. The project develops a toolbox to study this systemic change – providing insights on policies that accelerate the transition towards a circular society.
The new researcher will be supervised by prof. Reyer Gerlagh and is hosted at the Economics department, which offers a large environmental economists group, including Prof. Sjak Smulders, Prof. Daan van Soest, Prof. Herman Vollebergh, and many junior researchers including Dr Julie Metta and Dr Etienne Lorang. The project will also include cooperations with other consortium members, in particular Leiden University, Utrecht University, and the Dutch Environmental Agency, PBL.
The job can include a teaching task and/or thesis supervision, which will be consistent with the role of Postdoc. Preferences for teaching are discussed at the interview and can be part of a balanced job offer.

The research project, titled The Socio-Economic Impacts of Colonisation in Australia, encompasses a broad range of topics, including health, economic growth, environmental economics, inequality, and culture. The project draws on large-scale data collection and archival records and applies a diverse set of methodologies such as text analysis and machine learning to assess the impact of colonisation.
This position is based at the School of Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney. The School is a key partner in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course (Life Course Centre), which investigates how social and economic disadvantage is transmitted across generations and communities.
The Life Course Centre brings together interdisciplinary researchers from Australian universities, government agencies, NGOs, and international affiliates.
About the Candidate
The successful applicant will contribute to co-authored and independent research projects aligned with the Discovery Project’s agenda. They will also provide guidance to junior researchers, research assistants, and students, fostering a culture of research excellence and collegiality within the School.

The CERDI, a joint research center of the Université Clermont Auvergne, the CNRS, and the IRD, based in Clermont-Ferrand (France) is opening a two-year postdoctoral position in the field of development economics and related fields.

The Department of Economics operates on both the Leuven and Brussels campuses of the Faculty of Economics and Business. The American University of Paris invites applications for a full-time position in the Department of Economics and Management at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning 1 August 2026
The Position: Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate level economics courses that may include principles of macroeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, international monetary economics, econometrics, and money, banking, and financial markets. Experience with or an interest in teaching or research in the areas of sustainable development, political economy, environmental economics, and institutional economics will be reviewed favorably in the context of our undergraduate and graduate programs. As a full-time faculty member, the candidate is required to teach six courses per academic year with twenty students per class on average and must demonstrate commitment to scholarship and high-quality teaching. The candidate must engage in curricular development and innovation, department and university service, student advising, and assessment. The candidate is expected to participate fully in faculty governance including attending faculty, department, and committee meetings in accordance with the policies and procedures stipulated in the University Faculty Manual.
Qualifications: A PhD in Economics is required at the time of the appointment. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record or potential for teaching excellence, service to the institution, scholarly research, and publication in the fields of macroeconomics, monetary economics, international finance, international political economy, sustainable development, environmental economics or a related area.
Applicants with experience in a liberal arts context and an interest in occasionally engaging in transdisciplinary teaching are strongly encouraged to apply. Additionally, applicants who have completed coursework toward a PhD but have not yet defended their doctoral dissertation, and who have a strong record in teaching, service, or research, may also be considered for the position.
