The Department of Economics and Management at CY Cergy Paris Université and the Thema research center invite applications for a postdoctoral position on the topic "Globalization, Taxes, and Inequalities". The position starts on September 1st, 2025 (this date can be adapted to suit specific situations), with a contract duration of 2 years. The work location is Cergy-Pontoise, in the Paris area.

Environment

The candidate will join the Thema research center and work in collaboration with Sébastien Laffitte (https://sebastien-laffitte.eu/) as part of his junior professor chair. The position comes with research funding and without teaching duties. The candidate will also benefit from the active and stimulating research environment of Thema and of the Paris area.

Missions

The post-doctoral researcher will carry out research on the following areas: Public Economics, Public Finance, International Economics. A focus on the following topics is not mandatory but appreciated: International Taxation, Tax evasion and Tax Avoidance, Corporate Taxation, Tax Havens, International Economics, Industrial Policies. The research project aims at studying the interactions between tax policies, globalization and inequalities.

Profile

The candidate is expected to hold a PhD in economics by the starting date. Applicants should have strong analytical skills and a high standard of research excellence. Knowledge of French is not required. Successful candidates should be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
