Full time, fixed-term for 3 years

The Department of Economics is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow and Departmental Lecturer. The post is tenable for the 3 years from 1st September 2021 until 31st August 2024. The Department is particularly interested in applicants able to teach Macroeconomics. The Department of Economics at Oxford University is one of the largest and most diverse groups of academic economists in Europe and is committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Working under the direction of the Deputy Head of Department, the post holder will be required to provide lectures, classes, tutorials and supervision, particularly in macroeconomics, and to undertake advanced academic study in support of their teaching. The principal tasks of the post-holder will be (i) to contribute to teaching and supervision in macroeconomics for the MPhil in Economics, and (ii) to provide undergraduate tutorials and other support for college undergraduate teaching.

You will have a doctorate in Economics, or be close to completion, and demonstrate an ability to teach high-achieving and challenging students on a broad range of topics, preferably with some experience in graduate teaching and assessment. Good team-working and organisational skills are essential, as are excellent communication and presentation skills and the sensitivity to deal with pastoral duties. This is a full-time position, fixed-term until 31st August 2024 (3 years).
