The Department of Economics at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, will recruit one Assistant Professor in Applied/Theoretical Econometrics. This is a six-year tenure track position with a mid-term review after three years. The expected start date is August 2023.

Applicants should hold, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. in Economics/Econometrics or a related field. Research potential will be the key selection criterion and the successful candidate is expected to carry out research suitable for publication in highly ranked economics journals.

All fields of econometrics will be considered, including micro-econometrics, time-series econometrics, financial econometrics and data science. The position is suitable for pure econometricians as well as applied researchers whose research demonstrates a strong background in econometrics.

The teaching load is minimal; English is the primary teaching language. The candidate should be open to teaching an advanced graduate econometrics course.

Applications including cover letter, CV, job market paper and three letters of recommendation should be submitted through econjobmarket.org/positions/8726. Applications must be received by November 15, 2022 to be guaranteed full consideration, but will be accepted until the position is filled. The department encourages diversity, and we welcome qualified candidates of all backgrounds to apply for this position.

We will interview for this position virtually Dec 12-14.
