Assistant Professor in Agricultural Economics

This is a nine-month, tenure-track position in Agricultural Economics with a 60% research and 40% teaching responsibility. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized policy-driven research program focused on issues related to agricultural policy. Specific research topics may include, among others, farm policy and markets, insurance and risk management, food and nutrition programs, agro-environmental programs, and climate-friendly agriculture. The successful applicant will be expected to secure external funding. Teaching expectations will be three courses per year in the Agribusiness Management (AGBM) undergraduate major and Energy, Environmental, and Food Economics (EEFE) graduate program. The successful candidate is expected to mentor graduate students.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in applied or general economics, or related field, with experience in research and competing for grants on agricultural economics topics preferred. The successful candidate must have completed all degree requirements by the appointment date. Applicants should demonstrate excellent quantitative and communication skills and the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Assistant Professor in Agribusiness Finance
POSITION LOCATION: Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics, North Dakota State University
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The position is a research and teaching position in the areas of agricultural finance which may include emphasis in agribusiness, cooperative, farm/ranch finance and/or risk. The position will affiliate with other colleagues in the Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics in addition to activities in the Quentin Burdick Center for Cooperatives, the AgCountry Endowed Chair in Agribusiness and the Center of Trading and Risk, each housed in the Department.
The position is tenure-track and for a 9-month academic year and the split is: 80% Research, 20% teaching.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to initiate research in areas related to and including agricultural, agribusiness, cooperative, farm/ranch finance and/or risk. Some of this research would be collaborative with faculty working in these fields. Teaching responsibility would be 2-3 courses per year in the areas of agricultural finance, agribusiness and/or risk, depending on the needs of the department.
Faculty evaluations are based on successful publications in leading disciplinary journals, active participation in professional activities, effective teaching and advising at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, satisfactory service and outreach activities to the profession, state, university, and department as well as successful pursuit of extramural funding sufficient to support an active research program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum requirements include:
1. earned Ph.D. in agricultural economics, or closely related disciplines. ABD candidates will be considered provided degree will be conferred before the start date.
2. experience in teaching and research in agribusiness and/or agricultural finance.

The Department of Economics at Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics, Umeå University, is looking for a post-doctoral scholar. The department has a broad research tradition, where the main research areas are Public Economics, Labor Economics, Environmental Economics, and Industrial Organization. In particular five themes are central to our research: (i) economic policy and behavioral economics; (ii) economic policy and the labor market; (iii) sustainable development; (iv) economic policy and fiscal federalism; and (v) competition and procurement. The research touches on a broad set of topics including optimal taxation and public expenditure, income formation, household responses to taxation, social accounting, education policy, local public economics, public procurement, collusion, environmental policy, and interactions between energy and the environment. Other active research areas are Health Economics and Econometrics. The department is also the host institution for the Erik Kempe Award in Environmental and Resource Economics.
The post-doctoral scholarship is financed by the Tore Browaldh Foundation, Handelsbanken. The stipend on which the scholarship is based will support full-time research activity for at least three years. Most scholarships are extended to an additional three years following an evaluation, which takes place after the first three years. If this second scholarship period is successful, the department’s aim is to offer the scholar permanent employment. The post-doctoral scholarship is, therefore, a tenure-track position.

The Strategy and Business Economics (SBE) Division of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. We are inviting applications from researchers in the area of industrial organization and business strategy.
Applicants must have a record of research commensurate with the rank and a demonstrated successful experience in teaching, and senior-level candidates should have accomplished excellence in research. Entry level applicants should demonstrate research productivity in industrial organization or a closely related field and should have completed their Ph.D. or be very close to completion. The Sustainable Finance Observatory is a project hosted by the PARC Foundation that aims to improve methods for monitoring the Paris Agreement and to boost research and data on green finance, particularly internationally.
The Observatoire de la finance durable and the PARC foundation are part of the Institut Louis Bachelier, a partnership-based research network in economics and finance set up in 2008 by the Ministry of Finance to create a research ecosystem bringing together academics, businesses and public authorities.
The position of scientific advisor:
The PARC foundation hosts a Scientific and Expertise Committee (CSE) made up of more than 50 renowned players in the sector.
As defined in the governance of the Sustainable Finance Observatory, a Scientific Advisor is responsible for ensuring that the Observatory's publications are validated from a methodological and scientific point of view by the SCE.
The specific role of the Scientific Coordinator is to coordinate working groups, validation committees and volunteer members of the CSE in order to peer review and validate the methodologies used by the Observatory and ensure the scientific rigour of its publications. In addition, during the second half of his/her post, the Scientific Advisor will be required to work on publications and methodological research directly related to the Observatory's activities and publications.
Profile
You have completed your PhD on a subject related to sustainable finance / the economy of tomorrow; or even energy with a strong finance component. Ideally, you will have some initial experience, such as an internship in a company. You are sensitive to the issues of climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Tasks
The Scientific Advisor will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Responsible for the methodological validation of the Observatory's deliverables by the PARC SSC.
- Responsible for organising, facilitating and reporting on working groups with the PARC SSC.
- Responsible for carrying out studies and analyses for the PARC SSC WGs in order to support the committee's volunteer members.
- Drafting publications for the Observatoire de la finance durable and/or the CSE.
- Carrying out analyses, studies and research related to the Sustainable Finance Observatory's current and future studies in support of the Observatory's teams.
- Representing the Observatoire at conferences, working groups and scientific and technical platforms.
- Be a driving force behind proposals to develop the Sustainable Finance Observatory.

HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and become the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou”. HKUST(GZ) is located at No.1 Duxue Road, Qingsheng Hub Cluster, Nansha District, Guangzhou. The campus covers an area of about 1,669 mu (111.3 hectares) and is divided into two construction phases. ABOUT XJTLU
In 2006 Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) was created by the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong University – a top ten university in China. Offering a unique international education experience, XJTLU brings together excellent research practice and expertise from both institutions and gives students the skills and knowledge they need to secure careers in a global marketplace. XJTLU now has over 25,000 enrolled students in both Suzhou and Liverpool in the UK, with plans to grow to about 28,000 students by 2025. There are currently about 2,000 staff, among which about 1,000 academic staff, with an almost even split between citizens of the People’s Republic of China and international passport holders. XJTLU offers our undergraduates and postgraduates over 100 programmes with a diverse spectrum of courses.
XJTLU is entering a new and exciting phase of its development as part of its strategic priorities for the next ten years. Adopting a new higher education model based on the concept of Syntegrative Education (SE), XJTLU is currently opening a new Entrepreneurial Education site in Taicang, part of wider Suzhou, where the Entrepreneur College (Taicang) is located. The Taicang site will be a pioneer of, and educational model for, the future campus in addressing challenges arising from the 4th Industrial Revolution. Other new initiatives include new working partnerships with Xi’an Jiaotong University, the continued development of the four new Academies, and exploration of further potential locations to develop the SE model.

ABOUT INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS SCHOOL SUZHOU (IBSS)
The International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is growing in size and influence in pursuit of its vision to be a leading international business school. The school is based on strong principles of internationalism, innovation, inspiration and integrity, which together ensure that we have a positive impact on society through our teaching, research and business engagement. In that pursuit, IBSS became the youngest business school to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2016, and again, the youngest School to receive EQUIS accreditation in 2018. Receiving joint accreditation of AMBA 4 and BGA in 2020, IBSS became the 103rd triple accredited business school in the world.
The five departments of IBSS are the newly split Accounting and Finance, Economics, Intelligent Operations and Marketing, and Strategic Management and Organizations with over 170 faculty members and more than 6,000 students from over 60 different countries. IBSS delivers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, PhD and Executive Education programmes in the fields of Economics, Management, Accounting and Finance. Undergraduate programmes in Economics include both the widely popular BSc in Economics and BSc in Economics & Finance, whereas Master’s programmes include MSc in Economics & Finance and MSc in Business Analytics.
The Economics Department in IBSS initiated the university-wide Research Institute for Economic Integration (RIEI), which is a platform for research focused on the integration between and within Asian economies, Europe and the Pacific. In addition, the Department also has a strong focus on behavioral economics and hosts the IBSS Experimental Economics Lab as well as the IBSS Biometrics Lab.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATION
XJTLU is a research-led university and correspondingly, International Business School Suzhou is a research-led business school. In this context, even though the workload of faculty in IBSS is generally shared between teaching, research, and service, Professors are expected to greatly contribute to the research activity of the School. Research activities include the publication of research articles, attendance of international conferences, and applications for research funding. Research performance in the School is benchmarked on internationally recognized lists of journal quality such as the Academic Journal Guide (UK) – a.k.a. the ABS list – and the ABDC list (AUS). The target levels on those lists are ABS3/ABDC: A or above.
In addition, Professors are also expected to hold leadership roles (service) with the Department, School, or the University, using their experience and expertise to represent the Economics Department and the Business School.
In terms of teaching, all faculty within the Department are required to teach and Professors should be willing and able to teaching at all levels, including undergraduate, masters, PhD, and executive education.
