The Department of Economics engages in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer within the core areas of economics, i.e. microeconomics, macroeconomics, and quantitative methods. The department has a strong research profile and an excellent track record in fundraising. It is especially active in business-related and applied economic research, and hosts two research centers: Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure (CSEI) and Pension Research Centre (PeRCent). The department currently manages several research projects funded by Danish and EU research councils, as well as by private foundations and companies. In addition, the department is responsible for teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and PhD levels across various study programs at CBS.
The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with Associate Professor Annaïg Morin on a research project exploring gender differences in labor market dynamics and career progression. The project examines the origins and consequences of gender disparities in employment trajectories, firm and task segregation, and career advancement, with a focus on how family dynamics, social norms, and household specialization shape job search behavior and labor market outcomes. The research combines empirical analysis using Danish register data with the development of search-theoretic models. In addition to contributing to the project, the postdoctoral researcher will be encouraged to pursue independent research in related fields.
The Postdoc is a non-tenured position for a two- or three-year period, to be negotiated during interviews. The position will have a research obligation. If the selected candidate is only interested in research without teaching, the Postdoc position may be for two years. If the selected candidate is interested in teaching, the position may also have a teaching obligation, and then the Postdoc position will be for three years. This latter entails that teaching will be one third of the workload.
To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the applicant chosen is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the teaching and research activities of the Department.
Qualifications
The applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent.
In assessing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on the following:

Prospects

Support will be provided for presenting research at leading international conferences and publishing in high-quality field and general-interest journals. The position offers access to high-quality Danish register data and provides a well-equipped workspace located in the heart of Copenhagen.
